2010 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Checklist
One of our first box breaks we ever did on Sports Card Radio was a 2006 Absolute Memorabilia Football Box, so it was really exciting to see a box of the newest release on Sports Card Radio’s door step. Naturally, we love to open boxes but I know the fans of the podcast and forum would have more enjoyment from these than I would. So we got a bunch of people simply reply to a forum post for a chance to win 1 Free Pack from the box!! As you can see above – I would be happy with any of those packs.
Since we’ve opened about a dozen boxes this year that we’ve purchased — it was nice to open a box with no apparent damages to cards … even the thicker jersey cards look really clean. These foil based cards really cut well – leaving pretty sharp edges and corners. There was a serial numbered ‘non-hit’ in each pack – which adds some value to each pack and the break. We got all rookie year players as our premium hits, but this product has jersey/auto’s from current & former NFL stars too.
We got the advertised number of hits and base cards +1 extra base card in Pack #2. You have to see the cards in person to appreciate how the rainbow foil reflects in the light. The Damaryius Thomas RPM RC actually isn’t prime – but the football does have some coloring, which is pretty cool to see. The Prime Patches on the Dez Bryant are nice, especially the one with the white stripe down the middle. The Jimmy Clausen came in the last pack on the video – but is a great looking card.
Probably the best thing about a product like this, is that you do get the excitement of 1 hit per pack. With the quality of Rookies in this years draft class – it makes for a fun box break. After breaking a few products this year with only 1 hit (or no hits) … it makes me want to open another box! The best part of a full hobby box is that you get the guarantee of a quality RPM Rookie Autograph in this set. However, even if you can’t afford a pack or a full hobby box – the single cards found online and at hobby shops – make for really nice additions to collections. I’m going to try to track down a Jermaine Gresham and Jordan Shipley RPM RC – being a Bengals fan.
The day we broke this box – I noticed that Panini America did a box of their own. They got some really nice cards including a Sam Bradford Autograph. Naturally they are giving all the cards away too via Twitter. Watch the video Panini posted on YouTube – and make sure you follow them at the right time on Twitter so you can win. If I didn’t already follow their tweets – I’d try to win myself!!!
