Panini Black Boxes on eBay
No other company spends more on marketing at the Las Vegas Industry Summit then Panini America. That is evident in their large booth, a plethora of presentations and the giveaway of the famous Black Boxes that are always a hit with attendees. For several years they have given away these boxes and inside are special cards that are stamped with the “2012 Panini Black Box” logo.
After Panini got done giving an hour long presentation at the 2012 Industry Summit, Panini distributed the boxes. A huge line waited to grab each box. At the event many people instantly ripped open their box right then and their. I saw a Steve Young 3 color prime patch Autograph 1/1. An Emmit Smith 3 color prime autograph. Several other nice cards and a pair of brothers supposedly hit Cam Newton 1/1 cards. Some of the boxes have just 1 card while others will have 2 or more. On the secondary market, typically un-opened boxes were selling for around $350 on eBay. Below is a sampling of cards that were sold on eBay – these cards may never show up online ever again. The best time to buy Black Box cards is right after the event because once the boxes are gone, they are gone for good.
Note: Panini came out with a Basketball product in 2010-11 called Elite Black Box, do not confuse the two cards, all of the Black Box cards given away at the Las Vegas Industry Summit are stamped with the “2012 Panini Black Box” logo.
