A collector recently purchased a PSA-graded card on eBay from Probstein, a well-known seller. However, the card failed eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee process.

The reason for the failure was that PSA had “intentionally deactivated” the certification number, a detail uncovered during the authentication check.

Surprisingly, after failing the inspection, the card was returned to Probstein, who promptly relisted it for sale on eBay.
