Top 10 Hottest Cards -Baseball Cards on eBay – March 2010
|
1 – Jason Heyward Rookie Cards
Heyward has been crushing baseballs all over the Atlanta Braves spring training complex. In fact, there are reports that he even busted out a few car windows with some of his deep blasts. Heyward is one of, if not the top prospect in all of baseball. Look for him to be in the lineup for the Braves, perhaps on opening day. 2 – Aroldis Chapman Rookie Cards
You knew his fastball was going to be live, but I was even surprised to hear that Chapman was throwing the ball 100 MPH ++ in his spring training games. That’s some serious heat right there, and it’s just a matter if he can control his pitches. Looks like he will start the season in AA, but if he starts blowing away guys early, the Reds might be inclined to give him an early call to the majors. |

3 – Albert Pujols Cards
No modern day player commands the prices like Pujols does. His autographs, game used, and rookie cards always sell very well. Let’s take a look at some recent sales: Sports Card Report – Sales of High Dollar Albert Pujols Cards 2010 Topps ALBERT PUJOLSÂ In the Name Letter Patch 1/1 $1,025.00 |

4 – 2010 Topps Finest Baseball
With Topps being the only game in town for baseball cards in 2010, the sets they put out have been getting a lot of attention on eBay. Finest is a long time favorite with some collectors, and this years set looks to be selling very strong. Boxes are currently selling for more then the pre-sale price. The 2010 Topps Finest Rookie Redemption cards have been a huge draw so far. |

5 – Vintage Mickey Mantle Topps Cards
You could almost put Mickey Mantle at the top of any hot list and feel okay about it. His cards are always, I mean always the most watched baseball cards on eBay. Week after week, year after year, collectors just can’t get enough. Sports Card Report – Sales of High Dollar Mickey Mantle Cards 2009 Topps Triple Threads Mickey Mantle 1/1 Bat Knob $3,010.00 |

6 – Topps Million Card Giveaway
Who said Topps was just about the kids? This little PR/Insert set had all the old time collectors talking. Topps even got Cal Ripken Jr. to do some national interviews about the promotion. Topps went out and purchased a bunch of their old cards on the secondary market from dealers and inserted redemptions into packs of Topps Series 1, 2 and Updates and Highlights. |

7 – Stephen Strasburg
Aroldis Chapman kind of stole some of Strasburg’s thunder this spring training, but it will be Stephen who will probably reach the major leagues first. His fastball has been electric early on, but Strasburg will start the season in the minor leagues. Once Strasburg reaches the majors, look for his 2010 Topps Finest Rookie Redemption card to catch fire. |

8 – 2010 Topps Heritage Baseball
This set has always been a favorite of the mid-range collector, and I think Topps did a great job with the 2010 version. I like the autograph and short print checklist. |

9 – Joe Mauer
This guy just got his brand spanking new $180 Million contract. It’s got to be nice to be Joe Mauer! Collectors have always payed big money for Mauer’s autographs and premium game used cards. Now that Twins fans know that Joe will be in Minnesota for the long term they will be even more willing to pay those big bucks. And the new ballpark they have, which was long overdue, it could all mean that Minnesota might be on the way back to the top. |

10 – Ty Cobb Stuff
I can’t explain it, but I’ve seen a lot of Ty Cobb stuff pop up on eBay in March. From new relic and cut signature cards, to vintage cards ending almost everyday. Cobb’s stuff doesn’t sell as high as Mickey Mantle, but some of his nicer vintage cards sell for well over $1,000. |
