Top 10 Hottest Cards -Baseball Cards on eBay – May 2010
|
1 – 2010 Bowman Stephen Strasburg Superfractor 1/1
No other card has captivated the hobby world in 2010 like the 2010 Bowman Superfractor 1/1 card that hit eBay on May 19. The seller of the card originally had it for sale for $20,000 or best offer and had to “settle” for $16,403 at auction. 2010 Bowman Stephen Strasburg 1/1 Superfractor
2 – Stephen Strasburg Rookie RC Cards Not only was the Superfractor 1/1 getting a lot of attention, so were the rest of Strasburg’s rookie cards. 2010 Bowman Blue Refractor Autographs were selling in the $400-500 range on eBay. |

3 – 2010 Bowman Baseballl
2010 Topps Series 1 was a home run with collectors. The million card giveaway, the pie in the face cards, it was a lot of love for Topps. Well, they hit a grand slam with 2010 Bowman because collectors were eating this stuff up when it hit the shelves in mid May. The Strasburg Superfractor brought a lot of positive attention to the set and baseball cards in general. Topps Chrome and Allen & Ginter should be major winners as well. 4 – Jason Heyward Rookie Cards
Jason Heyward was the player on fire to start the season but now Stephen Strasburg is the one getting the most hype. Heyward has produced for the Braves and while his cards have come down a bit, he is still commanding triple figures for a Bowman Autograph Rookie Card. His 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Superfractor 1/1 sold for $1,550.00 in late February, and now the card is graded BGS 9 and has an asking price of $10,000 or best offer on eBay. 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Jason Heyward Superfractor 1/1 |

5 – Bryce Harper 2010 Bowman Cards
The future 2010 MLB #1 Pick will have to wait his turn to get a crack at the hobby top spot. His cards are hot, but nowhere near as hot as Strasburg or Heyward. Collectors can get his 2008 Upper Deck USA Autograph, but his 2010 Bowman Refractor cards are the ones that have been hot. |

6 – Starlin Castro 2009 Bowman Rookie Card
Starlin Castro hit a HR in his first Major League AB May 7, 2010. Cubs nation quickly got on eBay and started scooping up as many rookie cards as they could. He has cooled off recently, but if he gets hot with the bat you can expect sales of his cards to also heat up. |

7 – Ubaldo Jimenez Rookie Cards Ubaldo has always been a very good pitcher but he has really taken it to another level this season. His ERA is under 1.00 and he already has 10 wins. Colorado is known as a difficult place to pitch because of the altitude, but Jimenez’s 100 MPH fastball can blow away any hitter. Sales of Ubaldo Jimenez rookie cards have really picked up steam with each performance. His No-Hitter early in the season put him on the hobby radar and he hasn’t left since. |

8 – Mike Stanton Rookie Cards
Stanton is one of the top prospects in all of baseball and has gotten a lot of hobby love during his minor league career because the numbers are staggering. In just 48 games this season for AA Jacksonville, Stanton has crushed 20 HR’s. He is big, tall and very strong. Don’t look for the Florida Marlins to trade away Stanton unless they can’t afford him in 5 years when he is a superstar. The market is hot for Stanton, but this kid really looks like a good one and you might want to try and get a rookie while you still can. |

9 – Evan Longoria Rookie Cards
A hot start to the MLB season has put the collector spotlight back on former super prospect Evan Longoria. You’ve got a good selection of cards from 2006 and 2008. Be sure to check out the prices of both years to get a feel for what are his most popular rookie cards. It also hasn’t hurt that Tampa Bay has played some of the best baseball all season and Longoria is a big reason for their early success. |

10 – 2010 Topps Chicle Baseball
This product has been nowhere near as hot as Topps Series 1 or Bowman. Despite early concerns about the design of the cards, collectors have given 2010 National Chicle a stamp of approval more often than not. We busted a box of Chicle for some of our fan forum members who submitted articles to our Insider Hobby Tips section of our site. Some of the cards are fantastic, while others leave you scratching your head (Babe Ruth in a Braves Uniform). |
